From her second year of primary school she was aware of gender dysphoria — a body that was male and a heart that was female — but kept it hidden, and from 2002 performed as a male singer. In 2009 the response to a song she sang on television led her to come out. In 2010 she began again as Anna Nagasaki.
With the motto "If there is no precedent, create one!", she takes on new challenges with unfailing optimism, working as a sought-after bridal model and as a Hatsune Miku cosplay singer performing overseas.
She is also an official idol of Shiga University of Medical Science, and in 2018 was appointed an ambassador for the Kenko Shiga (Healthy Shiga) programme.
Her Hollywood debut, in a US film releasing simultaneously worldwide, has been confirmed.
She is currently producing "SUPER APARTMENT WIFE", her directorial debut, which she also wrote and stars in.
Alongside this, as Representative Director of the general incorporated association LGB.T, she lectures at schools and awareness events across Japan, working in many ways towards a more diverse society.
